Challah French Toast

I met up with my girlfriend Laura at the Highlands Bakery today for brunch. We shared some Challah French Toast and Scrambled Eggs with Cheese. It was so delicious!! So delicious I bought some of their Challah Bread so I can duplicate it at home for Linner (Lunch/Dinner).

French Toast Batter

3 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
1 cup half-and-half
1 T sugar
1/2 t ground cinnamon
1/4 t vanilla bean paste
pinch of kosher salt

Challah French Toast
4 1-inch slices of Challah Bread
4 T unsalted butter
Maple syrup
vanilla powdered sugar

To prepare the batter, whisk the eggs, milk, half-and-half, cinnamon, vanilla bean paste and salt. Transfer to a broad, shallow bowl and set aside.

To prepare the French toast, lay a piece of the bread in the batter and let it soak for 1-2 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a large nonstick skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat. When the butter is melted, lift the bread from the batter, let the excess drip off, and cook for about 4 minutes on each side, or until lately browned and cooked through.

Transfer to a serving plate and top with a drizzle of syrup and a sprinkling of vanilla powdered sugar.

  3. Would you be interested in sharing it with my readers next month. Here is some more info

I will be doing a 30 day food challenge. I will not be cooking the same thing twice the entire month.

I am looking for bloggers that want to contribute. Each day I would like to have a guest contributor for a entree, a dessert, and a side dish. That is a ton of people that I am going to require. So if you would like to participate please email me at boblyns at yahoo dot com and I will get the details.

This will be really simple for those that already have recipes posted on their blog because I would just need the html for your post you have already published. Then I will edit it a little to get it to be uniform on my blog with all the rest of the recipes and voila you are getting some promotions :)

Also currently I am not limiting the number of recipes I get. As I get more submissions then I will be more picky.

I hope some of you would like to submit some recipes to me. I can't wait to see what you have in store

    my blog is http://www.iamonly1woman.blogspot.com
